Magda Serwadczak holds a master’s degree in Dutch Linguistics which she obtained in her home town Wroclaw (Poland). She also received a postgraduate degree in translation and interpreting. Apart from her native language Polish, she also speaks Dutch and English.
Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rik Vosters (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) and Prof. Dr. Mieke Vandenbroucke (Universiteit Antwerpen) she is working on a joint PhD project on standardization and entextualization of 18th and 19thcentury witness depositions. Her research focuses on historical courtroom discourse, corpus linguistics, historical sociolinguistics and pragmatics.
